On the eve of Acedia's 21st birthday, the only existence she's ever known changes forever with a simple flash of light. All the technology around her turns off. And the very little that remains "on" is suddenly... wrong.

Rescued from a malevolent bot by three fascinating men, Acedia doesn't recognize this world they live in. It is nothing like her own, which had electricity and advanced technology, where problems like danger and disease were problems of the past.

The Anachronists who've taken her are forcing her to remain with them, and they expect her to do her part to survive, but she's never had to do anything for herself her whole life. Worse, they are making her feel things she's never felt before. They make her want to stay and love them even when she knows she should leave, because she brings nothing to the table.
