This is one of the featured subjects from our series of ?How-to-Live? booklets, presenting inspiring and practical guidance from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda in a convenient size that fits into pocket or purse.
Brother Premamoy (1910-1990) was born in Slovenia, then a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A skilled mountaineer in his youth, he later earned a doctorate in international law and received training in diplomatic service. He also pursued a lifelong interest in music, and was an accomplished pianist and organist. In 1954, Brother Premamoy became a monk of the Self-Realization Fellowship Order. Over the years he served as minister at a number of Self-Realization Fellowship temples, and he lectured widely on Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings. For more than twenty-five years, until his passing in 1990, he also devoted himself to the spiritual direction of young monks of the Order. Those who received his compassionate guidance testify that the spirit with which he lived his life clearly reflected the Sanskrit meaning of his monastic name??permeated with divine love.?
