Stacey B. Lee An attorney and healthcare negotiation consultant, Stacey B. Lee is an Associate Professor of Law at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She also holds a joint appointment at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. With nearly a decade of legal experience as a litigator and in-house counsel to several major healthcare institutions, Stacey specializes in training and facilitating transformative, interest-based techniques to assist business professionals, hospitals, physicians, healthcare providers, and healthcare executives in resolving conflict reaching agreement. As a member of the Carey faculty since 2008, Stacey teaches MBA and level executive negotiation courses and courses in business and healthcare law. In addition, she has designed content-specific negotiation curricula for various industries and organizations, including hospitals, medical schools, executive leadership and development programs, trade organizations, and women's professional groups and societies. Finally, in her research and professional interests, Stacey examines negotiation and mediation approaches to resolve conflict in corporate and healthcare settings. Year after year, Stacey has been selected for the excellence in teaching award and faculty of the year award at Bloomberg and Carey for her negotiation and health and business law courses. Stacey is a Fulbright Specialist for her expertise in negotiations and healthcare law and has received numerous research grants and fellowships for her teaching innovations. She has received several awards for Faculty Excellence, including the Excellence in Teaching Award, year after year, at both Bloomberg and Carey. In addition, Stacey was a featured TEDx speaker on "Patient Voices." Her interviews, quotes, and writings have appeared in CBS, CNN, Bloomberg Radio, USA Today, NPR, TODAY.com, Voice of America, among other media outlets. Stacey's work has also featured in prominent law reviews and peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Yale Journal of Health Policy and Ethics, Annals of Health Law, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and Health and Human Rights International Journal. Dr. Spriha Modi Spriha Modi is a former dental surgeon with about a decade's experience in dental research and healthcare across India and the United States. After undergoing additional training in surgical implantology and restorative dentistry at the UCLA School of Dentistry, she pivoted towards the healthcare startup space by working with a cutting-edge health technology and digital therapeutics Baltimore-based company to explore the value of their flagship device in oral health monitoring and intervention before pursuing her MBA in Health, Technology, and Innovation at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Spriha is leveraging her experience towards healthcare consulting and pro bono social impact consulting initiatives. She is interested in healthcare negotiations owing to the distinct value this skill can bring to an individual navigating the often complex landscape and the various pieces within the healthcare system.
