Crash Course Books is a new imprint devoted to publishing nonfiction for students, classrooms, and lifelong learners. Crash Course Books is an extension of the popular Crash Course YouTube channel founded by Hank and John Green. Launched in 2012, Crash Course has published over 1,500 engaging videos on more than 50 subjects like World History, Literature, Chemistry, Psychology, and Philosophy. With its enthusiastic audience and partnerships with PBS, the National Science Foundation, and more, Crash Course has garnered 16 million subscribers on YouTube and 2 billion views.
Elizabeth McArthur is a frequent contributor to Crash Course Literature. She has a PhD in English and comparative literature and an MA in English education from Columbia University. Before graduate school, she worked as an NBC page, in academic marketing at Henry Holt, and in marketing at Feed.com. Afterward, she taught English literature at the secondary and college levels.
