This book came to me in a dream. For weeks, I thought about the main character, Maddy, until a story developed around her. The character grew from my precious dog Sugar. Her owner was dying from terminal brain cancer. She was desperate to reunite with her estranged daughter without success. In desperation, she prayed for someone to take care of Maddy. The gardener at the Mercy Center fell in love with the dog. Caroline was convinced that God brought John to her in answer to that prayer. He bought Maddy and traveled to upper Michigan to retrieve her house. To his surprise, his life changed in a way he could never have expected.
