Jackie Higgins is a film-maker and a writer. She grew up by the sea in Cornwall and has always been fascinated by the natural world. She has made wildlife documentaries for National Geographic, BBC Natural World, BBC Horizon and The Discovery Channel. She read Zoology at Oxford University as a student of Richard Dawkins and has a master's in Art History. Sentient was her first book on natural history and science.
