R. Bruce Craig is a past executive director of the National Coalition for History in Washington, D.C., and today is an independent scholar specializing in the history of espionage. In the course of his ten-year quest to learn the truth about the alleged espionage activities of Harry Dexter White, Craig served as the plaintiff in a lawsuit that resulted in a landmark federal court decision that affirmed that historically significant grand jury records may be unsealed for the purpose of research. Craig played a major role in the unsealing of grand jury records relating to the Alger Hiss and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg espionage cases, and he is largely responsible for ensuring that the records of the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) are now in the public domain.
