Philip Clark (born 1972) is a music journalist, improvising pianist and former composer who writes about classical music, modern composition, jazz, free improvisation, rock and folk music. His biography of Dave Brubeck, A Life In Time, was published in February 2020 by Da Capo Press in the US and Headline Books in the UK, and has been acclaimed in both mainstream newspapers and in specialist music magazines. He has been a senior feature writer/reviewer for The Wire, Gramophone and Limelight magazines and has also written for publications including The Spectator, Jazzwise, The Strad, Classic CD, Jazz Review, Classic FM, London Review of Books, The Times and the Independent, and now writes for the Guardian and Financial Times.
