Nita Rose Olander just wants to be loved?just like everyone else. When a series of female bodies and one male body is found in the dense forests in and around a tiny SE Alaska town and it appears a serial killer is on the loose, Dalton Knight, is sent back to his hometown of Sitka, he couldn't wait to escape from in his youth, to help solve the murders. With the help of his sister, Nita Olander, resident plant expert and her best friend, Georgia Dey, police dispatcher, they work closely together to help solve the homicides.

When Dalton returns and sees Nita, does he feel guilty for having left her when she was only five years old? Does she blame him for leaving her alone to fend for herself against their alcoholic mother? Will either of them find love or will he end up as one of the killer's victims?
