Corrin lives in the sheltered walls of Oddment, surrounded by quiet forests and apprenticing under the elder healer. She likes her tranquil life, thank you very much, and would claim that she's no love for adventures. But when a plague afflicts Corrin's neighbors and resists all remedies, her peaceful home is in danger of perishing. Corrin's teacher, Bathilda, suggests a last resort: a miracle cure from deep within the Gloamwood.

The catch: few who dare enter the Gloamwood are heard from again.

Tales tie the Gloamwood to the twilit boundary between life and the starlands. They say it's Death's domain, infested with bog sprites, wyrms, trolls, and Death's chaotic helpers, the Churikin. And the road to it has its own dangers.

Not at all eager but decidedly desperate, Corrin embarks on a journey to retrieve this cure.
