Past mistakes do not define you.
MacKenzie Ables, once again, finds herself not trusting anyone around her. When a new stranger moves into the neighborhood across the street from Scott and her, she begins to have nightmares about her son's kidnapping again, and is positive she knew James (as he wanted to be called) from another time in her life. Who is he really? He certainly had aged in twenty odd years (long beard, raspy voice). He was scruffy looking; a mountain man image came to her mind. His mannerisms seemed familiar to her, and she was convinced that she knew him, but with his ragged looks and beard, she couldn't remember where or when. Perhaps he was one of the five gentlemen who had hung out with Carlos. Knowing Carlos had died many years ago, she had no one to ask, so she decided she would investigate, on her own, until she came up with some answers.
Determined to uncover the truth, she began retracing her steps, visiting old haunts. Each step brought her closer to a memory she was sure was just out of reach, igniting a sense of urgency to connect the dots of her past.
