Ramith Ramu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Sciences-Biotechnology from Visvesvaraya Technological University and an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Mysore. His research focuses on bioactive peptides, probiotics and postbiotics, nutraceuticals, phytochemistry, metabolic disorders, and antimicrobial applications. His work integrates biochemical, microbiological, molecular, and computational approaches to investigate bioactive molecules and their therapeutic and functional potential. Dr. Ramu has authored more than 195 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to scholarly book chapters. His research has been supported by national funding agencies, including the Indian Council of Medical Research and the University Grants Commission. He is an inventor on a granted Indian patent related to a bioactive peptide targeting PPAR-¿ modulation. He serves in editorial roles for peer-reviewed journals and has received visiting and international research fellowships. He has also been recognized in the Stanford-Elsevier database of highly cited scientists.

Shashank M Patil is a researcher in the field of life sciences, specializing in peptidomics, bioactive peptides, and peptide-based therapeutic strategies for obesity-related diabetes and associated metabolic disorders. He earned his Ph.D. in Life Sciences from the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, Karnataka, India, where he continues to pursue research at the intersection of high-resolution proteo-peptidomics, peptide therapeutics, and integrated multi-omics. His research career has been supported by several prestigious fellowships and grants, including the Indian Council of Medical Research Senior Research Fellowship (ICMR-SRF), Government of Karnataka Devaraj Urs Fellowship, JSS AHER Overseas and University Research Fellowships, and the JSS AHER Research Grant. He is an inventor on multiple patents and registered copyrights concerning bioactive peptides and functional food hydrolysates targeting PPAR-¿-associated metabolic dysfunction. His scholarly contributions include more than 60 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact international journals and six book chapters published by leading academic publishers, including Elsevier, Wiley, CRC Press, and Apple Academic Press.
